Our Client, the Freehold Association of this late 1920’s transitional Art Deco apartment building, appointed us to take the Interior Design role on the entire restoration of the property’s common areas.
With a view to transforming the interior space, especially in terms of lighting levels and refining the finish, we were respectful of the existing detailing and grandeur of the space.
Resting somewhere between a straight restoration and a hint of a renovation, we walked a delicate path resulting in a finely balanced interior. Strong impact is made in the very front entrance where we designed a bespoke pattern for a marble inlaid-rug. This sits adjacent to an ebony high-gloss desk which we designed and crafted to seat two smart porters and to hold all their ‘kit’ discreetly.
Working alongside a supportive team of Consultants, Base Interior had site presence throughout the build and through to successful install, completion and handover.
